Program Design
The overall design of the Kellogg-Schulich Executive MBA is efficient, flexible and balanced. The program begins in January and ends in June of the following year. The class schedule minimizes time away from work and maximizes in-class and study team learning.
The program consists of five learning formats:
- Alternating class weekends at the Schulich School of Business in Toronto
- Live-In Weeks at both the Schulich School (one week) and the Kellogg School of Management in Chicago (two weeks)
- An international week at Schulich in Year 1
- A choice of elective courses at Kellogg in Year 2
- A global electives module selected from one of the Kellogg partner school locations (see schedule below)

The alternating weekend schedule
The alternating weekend schedule is ideal because classes are spaced far enough apart to allow students to make a business trip between classes. At the same time, the biweekly schedule ensures that students stay "in rhythm" with their learning.
Class weekends in Toronto are non-residential. Meeting time for EMBA teams is integrated into class weekends, thereby minimizing the need for students to schedule additional meetings on weeknights. Alternating weekend classes in Toronto take place in the state-of-the-art Schulich Executive Learning Centre, which is part of the School's award-winning multi-million dollar complex.
